With so many fruits and vegetables to make into a smoothie, this green apple cucumber and ginger combination is a perfect drink if you don’t feel like eating fruits or vegetables.
ENJOY THIS SMOOTHIE
- Green apple and cucumber make a great combination of smoothies if you are just starting out to try smoothies.
- Adding ginger gives that spicy aroma taste to every sip.
- It’s simple, healthy and quick to prepare.
- Lean towards a healthier you when you add homemade smoothies to your body.
I remember the first time I was transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle, I would drink green juice every day with just a combination of celery and cucumber and yes no added sugar at all. Just pure nutrients, vitamins, minerals and fiber.
It is a good way to cleanse your body and remove the toxins, and I swear my bowel movement has improved and never been better after that.
When it comes to apples I prefer red over green and therefore the best way to enjoy green apples is by making a smoothie together with other fruits or veggies.
WHAT IS A SMOOTHIE
A smoothie is a drink that involves the process of pureeing or blending fruits and vegetables in a blender with water or any liquid drink of choice as the base.
There are many types and variations of smoothies and just because you make a smoothie from fruits and vegetables doesn’t mean that it is healthy.
A VEGAN DRINK TO ENJOY
This smoothie is naturally vegan just by using water as a base liquid or you can also use coconut water or dairy-free milk which I have tried too such as almond and oat milk.
I like to share uncomplicated and straightforward recipes with a handful of ingredients.
EQUIPMENT
- Knife
- Chopping board
- Blender
VARIATIONS
Simply add a protein powder to make this a protein smoothie.
Add maple syrup if you like sweet green smoothies.
Add vegetables like Kale or Celery.
PREPARE IN ADVANCE
The best way to enjoy the benefits of a smoothie is to prepare and drink them right away. But if you have limited time you can chop the apple and cucumber, keep in a ziplock or container and freeze them.
Blend when you are ready to drink. The good thing about it is you won’t need ice since it is already cold.
You can also make this smoothie in one batch but it is better to consume up to 3 days.
Be sure to keep it in a clean glass container or a mason jar and place it in the fridge.

Love your flavor combinations. The kick from the ginger is awesome. Thanks for another keeper.
What a healthy juice! Can’t wait to make this and drink it after my run.
I add ginger and/or turmeric into most of my juices/smoothies. Have yet to try the green apple and cucumber combi so thank you!
This is an interesting combination that I would not have thought of. You may want to check the paragraph about the nutrients in green apples. I don’t believe they are high in these, and the recipe is low in calcium and iron also.
Such a delicious and refreshing smoothie to start the day. It has a great balance of flavours! The ginger adds a lovely warmth. Will make this again!
