Enjoy a comforting drink rich in spices with this vegan masala chai drink in just 10 minutes. A drink that compliments the season of Fall. It's spicy, warming, and sweet all at the same time.
Heat pot with 1-2 cups of water and add 1 – 1 ½ teaspoon of chai spice with ½ tsp fresh ginger(optional).
Bring to a boil.
In a separate pot, heat half a cup of milk or use the microwave and set aside.
Once the chai spice boils, turn off the stove and with a strainer pour half cup in a mug.
Add milk and 1 tablespoon of maple syrup.
Add a black tea bag and let it steep for 2-3 minutes.
Stir well and enjoy.
Notes
If using loose black tea leaves add it together with chai spice when boiling.
You will have extra spiced tea which you can transfer in a clean mug or tumbler and enjoy the next day.
If you want caffeine-free masala chai, omit the black tea in the process.
You can add extra ginger or pepper when boiling the spices according to your preference.
Make it extra sweet by adding another half teaspoon of maple syrup or sugar.
